The News Addressed Well By A Social Media Firm

Perhaps you've just recently discovered a story talking about something terrible that happened in the world. When you log onto your networking platform of choice, you may find a slew of messages talking about it with many of them leaving condolences. It seems like businesses go about the same kind of action on their pages, too. I think that there are a few companies that need to understand how to properly use such pages and a social media firm can tell you all about such an action.

About a week ago, a report on Buzzfeed came to my attention because it talked about how companies can make mistakes involving networking. In 2001, during protests made in Egypt, Kenneth Cole created a post. While it would have been fine for the story to be commented on, there was a plug added, talking about the spring collection which had just been posted online. It was a form of utilization of a website that lacked any kind of tact, from my perspective and - I am sure - from a few others.

A similar case came about after the Newtown shootings and Kmart took to Twitter in order to comment. At the end of the Tweet sending thoughts and prayers, there was a hashtag which may take just about anyone by surprise. It was one that said #Fab15Toys, no doubt talking about one of the holiday selections at the time. Between this and Kenneth Cole, it seems like there are a few companies taking to networking for the sake of promotion, going to new lows in order to do so.

If there's one thing that a social media firm can attest to, it's that promoting products and sending well wishes do not mix. Such agencies as fishbat can tell you that the audience will believe that it comes off as disingenuine, since it seems like a tragedy is being used in order to boost sales. If companies truly want to make use of their pages, they should keep matters simple. They have the right to comment on certain stories but throwing in a marketing campaign to boost business is simply wrong.

I believe that just about any company can make use of a social media firm and there are reasons for this. One of them comes from the idea that reputation management is lost on some entities, thereby impacting business in the long run. This being said, doesn't it seem like the optimal strategy to work with an authority that has operated alongside a number of clients in the past? I think that they will find that such a business venture will be for the best.
